Mixer is proud to announce (re)present exhibist: 2 years from 1 September – 11 October 2015.

Organized to mark the second anniversary of exhibist magazine and showcasing 14 of the up-and-coming artists featured in the publication, this exhibition presents a diverse selection of contemporary art from Turkey, including sculpture, installation, drawing, photography, video works and digital art. As a visual chronicle of the last two years of the magazine, the show illustrates exhibist’s intent to be a platform for contemporary art from Turkey. Running parallel to the 14th Istanbul Biennial and taking place in proximity to a number of the main Biennial venues, it encourages visitors to explore new possible understandings and interpretations of the featured artists’ works. (re)present exhibist: 2 years is part of exhibist’s objective to continuously extend its reach — from the growing international circulation to artist talks and exhibitions.

Mixer is a place that fuels creativity, dialogue and critical thinking, making it the perfect venue for this exhibition. exhibist and Mixer share the same objectives of supporting emerging contemporary artists from Turkey by opening up the Istanbul art scene to the world and encouraging critical writing in Turkey as well as responding to the local scene’s youthful, inventive dynamism.

exhibist is currently the only independent, non-profit English-language magazine focusing on contemporary art from Turkey and is sold internationally at more than 25 locations across Europe, North America and Asia. Since its launch as an online platform in 2013, it has also become one of the most popular art magazines in Istanbul. Every issue, printed quarterly, includes extensive features on up-and-coming Turkish artists, analytical essays, overviews of established artists from Turkey and provides information on galleries featuring Turkish Contemporary Art, as well as related exhibitions and events.
